Outrageous Fortune: Meditations on Living Through a Pandemic and Troubled Times
0$3.99 – $11.99Navigating through troubled times is often fearful, terrifying, and disappointing. We want to make decisions that move us along, but we are also fearful about making the wrong choice. Especially, during this pandemic, we are fearful about our lives being touched by others, but with a deep desire to stay connected. These meditations trace the emotional upheaval of our struggle as well as provide hopeful solace in the struggle itself. Philosophers, sociologists, psychologists, spiritual advisors, and theologians are useful sources for this journey. In my endeavor to clarify and advance the singularity of our struggle, I have gleaned from many of those listed above. But most of all I have endeavored to dive into my own vulnerability, connecting myself to the human struggle for security and love.
Above All
0$9.99Above All is an extensive exploration and expansion of the themes found in Psalm 22. This psalm delves into the deep connection Christ had with God at his birth, the apparent betrayal he experienced during his earthly mission, and the glorious outcomes that arise from his suffering. The author skillfully combines references from both the Old Testament and New Testament along with their creative imagination to craft a narrative about God’s loving purpose for humanity, the plan for redemption from the fall, and, above all, the fulfillment of that redemption.
Above All also offers insights into the reasons behind the wicked and terrible events that occur daily in the world and provides an explanation for why God does not always intervene. The story commences by imagining the thoughts of Jesus while he is on the cross at Calvary, and it places the reader in the role of a spectator, allowing them to witness what Jesus perceives, experiences, and does, starting from his time in the Garden of Gethsemane to the following three days after his crucifixion.
The Truth Will Set You Free: Eleven Myths Satan Uses to Deceive Man
0$9.99 – $16.95THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE
If you asked an American, “Who is the prince of this world”, most will say, Jesus Christ. However, that is not what the Bible says:
(John 12:31) “Now is the time for judgement on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.”
John 16:11) “About Judgement, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.”
Another misconception man has is the God gave him freewill in order that he could make a decision for Christ in his life. God chooses us not the other way around! (Luke 10:22) “All things have been committed to me by my father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
The above two myth mentioned above are just part of the eleven myths covered in this book: “THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE, ELEVEN MYTHS SATAN USES TO DECEIVE MAN”. These lies exposes Satan’s plan he uses to destroy man’s relationship with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Don’t accept my words, but check them out yourself. The Apostle Paul says that you should be like the “Bereans”: (Acts 17:11) “Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scripture every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
Satan lies and wants to take as many people to Hell with him, where he and his followers will spend eternity.
Caleb’s Journey
0$3.99 – $22.99A timeless narrative of struggle, determination, and faith, Caleb’s Journey by Sidney Little proves to be a learned and inspired account of life in the ancient walled city of Jerusalem. Written for Christians and lovers of history, this epic novel of historical fiction follows a simple man named Caleb from his first encounter with John the Baptist to the crucifixion of Jesus, and through the early days of the siege on Jerusalem until the city fell in 70 A.D. Vast, sweeping and relevant, actual events are relived as readers embark on a triumphant journey of one man’s passion and honor. When Jesus walked this earth, Rome ruled the world, and with one bloody battle after the other, the Romans finally laid claim to the birthplace of Christianity. Early citizens were faced with trials, tribulations, and heartache as they wrestled with their spirituality and the forces of war and aggression.

Her memories of childhood and the tragic loss of her father stir her mind, especially when she discovers Linnea’s long-hidden diary. As she reads and rereads it and begins to explore the world around her, she gains perspective on the challenges women have always faced. But You, Who Do You Say That I Am?: Jesus, A Friend Or An Acquaintance?
0$3.99 – $9.99Self-reflection and self-evaluation are two events that occur in every intelligible human being at a certain point in life. In assessing ourselves we look for ways to approve or improve it for a better quality of life. Often times this self-assessment would focus solely on monetary acquisitions. Living our lives to the fullest is suitable for all mankind. It’s a great objective to strive for while it’s very important to assess our spiritual life from time to time and strengthen this beautiful relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ. This sacrificial death of Jesus happened only for one reason: To reconcile the world with the Master of the Universe. Our spiritual health depends greatly on our spiritual wealth for God is Spirit. The questions to ask yourself are the following: Can you testify about Jesus? And if so, Who do I say that He is? Amen.

He is from a three-generation family of China missionaries. This ‘Quilogy’ (five-books-in-one) is the story of his paternal Hungarian-immigrant heritage, and his maternal-missionary heritage. It relates to his father’s boyhood home-a boxcar on a siding in Regina, Saskatchewan-from which came his father’s many stories and life’s lessons, which is the theme of Dr. Varro’s book, pictures of his own life, struggles, victories, and detours along the way. The journey takes us through his international childhood in Alaska, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and five states of the U.S. He graduated from Morrison Academy, a Taiwan missionary boarding school; he also graduated from Seattle Pacific University, where he met and married Margo Moore, his accompanist-now his wife of fifty-six years. The story goes on with their own radio and TV missionary work, and teachers at Taipei American School in Taiwan; it continues with the birth of their daughter in Taiwan, and an around-the-world trip through Asia and Europe; then back to Seattle at the University of Washington-earning a Masters of Music, and Doctor of Music Arts in Choral Conducting degrees. He taught elementary, middle school, high school, and college music in Taiwan, Seattle, Oregon, Ohio, and Texas. After fifteen years as teacher and college music professor, Dr. Varro held music positions in churches, and founded two community music ensembles. Following times of spiritual struggle and renewal, he graduated from Houston Graduate School of Theology with Masters of Divinity, Masters of Arts in Counseling, and Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling degrees. He trained and was Staff Counselor at Samaritan Counseling Center in Houston. He founded Varro Counseling, spending the next twenty-two years in pastoral counseling, free-lance music, prison, and retreat ministries, as an ordained minister, in first the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, then the United Methodist Church, and finally the Global Methodist Church.
The last two books outline his spiritual struggle and renewal before ordination. He and Margo are parents of Shelley, born in Taiwan; Steve, born in Oregon; and Rob, born in Ohio; they have five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He and Margo have lived in Houston, Texas, for thirty-nine years.
