Description
Frank Varro, author of Stories from the Boxcar, is a retired but active Methodist pastor, counselor, musician and former missionary with a life as rich and varied as the stories he tells. Born in a three-generational family of China missionaries, his story blends his Hungarian-immigrant and missionary heritage. It was inspired by his father’s boyhood in a Regina, Saskatchewan, boxcar. It is a magnificent story of success, failures, recovery, and a life filed with amazing opportunities and miracles, doing God’s work.
His journey spans more than four continents, including Alaska, Canada, China, Hongkong, Taiwan, and across the U.S. With graduate and port-graduate degrees from Seattle Pacific University, the University of Washington, and Houston Graduate School of Theology, Frank has served as a music professor, pastor, and counselor for over five decades.
Together with Margo, his wife of 58 years, he has shared a calling for faith, music, and service around the world. They now reside in Houston, Texas. They have three adult children, five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
