Citi of Books (COB) has been involved with and engaged in multiple international events, such as book fairs, conferences, book exhibitions, book signings, and having space for modern book events. This year, Citi of Books represented 110 books in the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (LATFOB) at the University of Southern California. The book fair was held on April 20–21, 2024. On June 28–July 1, 2024, in San Diego, CA, USA, COB also attended the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference, representing seven books.
The authors of Citi of Books have always wanted to interact and establish connections with as many publishers, educators, librarians, and other writers as possible. COB’s fundamental principle has always been the sharing of stories of diversity, with people from many languages, cultures, and religions coming together to listen, understand, and experience life from other perspectives.
As the Frankfurt Book Fair celebrates its anniversary for another year of serving the industry, Citi of Books is beyond delighted and excited to join the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurt Buchmesse) in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 16–20, 2024. This spectacular gathering honors fascinating works and their creators. It is a gathering where people from over 100 countries can meet each other in peace and security, despite the current strained world situation. Some of our chosen authors will visit for book signings and greetings as well.
But before that, everything started in 1949, when the very first Frankfurt bookfair was held in St. Paul’s Church with 205 German publishers present and over 9,000 guests attending. It was founded by the Book Fair Committee, namely Alfred Grade, Walter Gericke, Gottfried Löbemann, Dr. Heinz Bergmann, and Dr. Kurt Georg Schauer, in March 1949. (More history of the Frankfurt Book Fair is here: https://www.buchmesse.de/en/history#46494.)
