I knew Emily would be special when I laid her in her crib for the first time, belly down & I thought she was still asleep. Then she raised up, grabbed a tiny pillow her aunt had made for her, pulled it up to her tiny little chest & laid her head on it! How did she know to do that? What 1 day old baby knows what a pillow is? I had moved it away from her so she wouldn’t smother, & she grabs the pillow & falls back to sleep! I had to ask other people in the room if they had seen her? It has been sheer joy being Emily Noelle’s Mom. She is so wise, so creative in where her life is going & believe it or not, the most beautiful part of Emily isn’t her gorgeous face. It’s her beautiful, caring, totally thoughtful personality.
