The Bookmarks Festival of Books & Authors has become a major literary gathering in the Carolinas, and its 2026 edition marks the festival’s 21st anniversary. The main festival on September 26 will fill downtown Winston-Salem with author panels, readings, book signings, exhibitors, vendors, food trucks, and activities designed to welcome readers of all ages. A dedicated children’s area will also offer activities and free books for children, making the celebration a literary experience for the whole family.
