The world’s largest bookfair, Frankfurter Buchmesse, opened its doors last October 16-20, 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany. For worldwide business and trading, it is regarded as the most significant book fair on earth. More than 4,300 exhibitors and an expected 114,000 trade visitors from 131 countries, welcoming rights professionals from a total of 355 agencies and publishers make the Frankfurt Book Fair a place of endless discoveries. On the stages we experienced exciting international voices.
As the Frankfurter Buchmesse celebrates its anniversary for another year of serving the industry, Citi of Books did not miss the chance to join the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) in Frankfurt, Germany. This spectacular gathering honors fascinating works and their creators.
With a series of activities prepared, one of the most anticipated this year is the chosen country to be the guest of honor, which is Italy. The country will present not just its diverse, unique qualities as an attractive place to travel but also as a country with a rich literary tradition.
Citi of Books is excited to present books written by our distinguished authors. In our assigned booth, a range of books—from fiction to nonfiction—would be on exhibit. A book included in the gallery was “Taking Anger Seriously: A Divine Answer for Human Anger” by George Quin.
The author, George Quin, is a pastor, Bible teacher, and has dedicated 13 years of ministry to incarcerated men in jails and prisons. George earned his bachelor’s in theology degree from Fountain Gate Bible College in 1985 and is a student of Ancient Hebrew. He retired after 29 years at Frito-Lay North America Inc. and now serves as Community Care Pastor at Midway Church and on the Board of Directors at Denton Freedom House, a Christ-centered home for men and women with addictions.
He is happy to be committed to this great mission field that extends into jails, prisons, and halfway houses, ministering to the needy and the reproached. He focuses on helping people overcome seemingly insurmountable problems through the teachings of Jesus Christ and enjoys serving those who care for hurting people within his community.
“Anger is like drinking seawater; the more you drink, the thirstier you become.”
Taking Anger Seriously: A Divine Answer for Human Anger (An Expanded & Updated Bible Study)” by George Quin is a compelling examination of anger, reflected by the author’s shortcomings but has come through to the other side with wisdom and grace. This book offers a new perspective with divine guidance that will surely have a positive effect in your life.
Nowadays, anger or wrath, has become a prevalent and visible emotion. In today’s fast-paced world, people are more exposed to stress and frustration and intensify feelings of helplessness and irritability. Anger itself is a natural human emotion, yet the ways it is expressed and consumed today can escalate conflicts. Across the narrative, the author presented a set of logical analysis on God’s pure and justified anger and analyzing that against our anger.
This book is for people who are struggling to control their anger. The author filled each paragraph of the book with Biblical statements concisely in a way that even an amateur in biblical studies can understand. His ministry, Taking Anger Seriously, has been based on hundreds of testimonies, proving the need for real change in the hearts and minds of offenders.
One of these testimonies was from an inmate saying, “Not only was the message so strong, the class was fun and every day all the men were excited to learn from them. News flows quick on a prison network and others want to take the course. I have brothers already buying the book.” ~ Cory, an inmate
There is another testimony about Quin’s book saying, “Quin is graciously honest about his own struggles with anger and how the Scriptural principles he lays out in the book enabled him to have victory in this area of his life. This is no academic exercise in dispassionately observing the Biblical data regarding anger. Rather it comes from a man who deeply desires to impart practical wisdom that will help those who like him have struggled to subdue their temper.” -Travis Marshall Quin
