Among the featured works in the Book Gallery is “Do You Know What’s Invested in You?: A Three-Part Biblical Teaching on the Most Influential Factors in a Person’s Life: Self, Culture, and Purpose” by Pastor William Evans— a heartfelt and deeply personal guide to discovering one’s true identity through God’s eyes.

Raised in a God-fearing family, Pastor William Evans gained a foundation of love, reverence, and faith in God that led to him committing his life to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1987 under the guidance and leadership of the late Bro. McKinley Matthews of the House of the Lord located in Houma, Louisiana. There, the author learned the discipline needed to study and apply the Word of God. After five years being led by the Holy Spirit, William moved to Dallas, preaching and teaching until settling in the church of New Hope under the tutelage of the late Pastor Sammy Thompson, where he was licensed and ordained to preach the Word of God.

Pastor William Evans’ “Do You Know What’s Invested in You?: A Three-Part Biblical Teaching on the Most Influential Factors in a Person’s Life: Self, Culture, and Purpose” begins by sharing his own struggles with identity—how others’ opinions and expectations once shaped his sense of self. Many readers will see themselves in his story, remembering times when they too tried to fit into models created by the world. But Pastor Evans’ message is clear: we don’t have to chase after the world’s definition of who we are when God has already given us a divine blueprint for our lives.

Through his own journey of faith, Pastor Evans found what he calls his “North Star”—the guiding light that pointed him to his true identity in Christ. This powerful metaphor becomes the foundation of the book, encouraging readers to seek their own North Star through a relationship with God. Once he gave his heart to the Lord, Evans began to see himself not through human eyes, but through the eternal perspective of his Creator. The book challenges readers to do the same: to look beyond temporary measures of worth and instead embrace the identity, purpose, and value that come directly from God.

At the heart of this transformative teaching are three key elements—Self, Culture, and Purpose. Pastor Evans explains that understanding yourself, the world you live in, and the divine purpose God has designed for you are all crucial to living a fulfilled Christian life. Each of these factors shapes who you are, but when rooted in God’s truth, they become tools of spiritual growth rather than sources of confusion. By aligning these three areas with God’s will, readers can begin to live with clarity, confidence, and direction.

“Do You Know What’s Invested in You?” is more than a book—it’s a spiritual journey toward self-discovery and divine purpose. Pastor Evans writes with sincerity and hope, offering biblical insights that help readers uncover what God has already placed within them. It’s a reminder that every person carries God-given potential waiting to be realized. As Evans beautifully puts it, when you truly understand what’s invested in you, you’ll see not just who you are, but who God created you to become.
