The Spotlight TV host, Logan Crawford, interviews the author of the magnificent book “You Have Time to Die and Go Broke,” Linda Salerno Forand. The author shared the stories and the lessons she learned from her caregiving experience in a fun and educational way.
The show Spotlight TV by Logan Crawford gives people a chance to be in the “spotlight,” to be the star of the night. Authors, inventors, filmmakers, experts, actors, entrepreneurs, creators, musicians, singers, songwriters, investors, performers, executives, medical professionals, and trendsetters: this is their “Spotlight”.
Linda Salerno Forand, who was invited to the show, is from north-central Massachusetts. She has worked in different aspects of veterinary medicine ever since she graduated from college. She also does “Animal Adventures,” which is a Community Access television program that gets people there to learn more about the environment.
She was a caregiver to her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and husband. Her father and mother-in-law died of dementia. This inspired her to write this book, knowing what she, her mom, and countless other people go through when dealing with the healthcare system.
Linda’s very first book, “You Have Time to Die and Go Broke,” is about learning how to deal with the complex healthcare system by getting the best care possible without breaking the bank.
The healthcare system has turned into a giant labyrinth that is extremely difficult to navigate. The thought of dealing with a serious or terminal illness is terrifying enough without having to go against the fortress of hospital administrators, health insurance companies, and endless waits in doctor’s queues just to get the care you need.
