“Bridges” by Leatha J. Patton is now available for purchase

Citi of Books is thrilled to announce the publication of the book “Bridges” by Leatha J. Patton. The novel explores resilience, family bonds, and the impact of historical trauma. Purchase it through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other retail sites.

Leatha J. Patton was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and reared in La Porte, Indiana. She has been living in Chicago since adulthood, and “Bridges” is her first publication; it is historical fiction. (She is presently working on her second novel.) Her hobbies are sewing and gardening. She has a son residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, and two brothers. She attended DePaul University and majored in journalism and creative writing.

In Leatha’s novel “Bridges,” the Beckford family grapples with the lingering effects of a traumatic post-Civil War ordeal. Their lives remain tentative, overshadowed by history. However, a horrendous event on their sprawling thousand-acre property in modern times further fractures the family. The youngest siblings, Ned and Estelle, face challenging family dynamics, leading them to seek new beginnings.

Set against the backdrop of Chicago, Estelle courageously navigates life’s trials, instilling optimism and resourcefulness in her children, Clare and Jeffrey. As the narrative unfolds, Clare becomes the central focus, and her marriage to Grady Mayfield weaves their family into a broader story extending into the 21st century.
