When it comes to providing information to the public or introducing a brand, a radio interview is one of the best mediums to use. That is why, in cooperation with CBS Radio’s host, Benji Cole, and Citi of Books Publishing, the inspiring and amazing stories behind every author’s work will be heard.
Marian Flores was featured in an interview with Benji Cole of CBS Radio for his book “Alisa in Washerland”.” They talked about the in-depth nature of her book’s theme and inspiration during the interview.
Marian Flores has spent her entire life in small Connecticut towns. She is married, has a son, and an elderly cat. From a young age, Marian demonstrated artistic talent, winning numerous art awards. She graduated from Paier College of Art and later from Central Connecticut State University, where she found the inspiration to write her book. Currently, she is an art teacher at a private school for children with special needs, where she delights in teaching students on the autism spectrum who have multiple disabilities.
“Alisa in Washerland” is a modern twist on the classic “Alice in Wonderland,” filled with playful wordplay. The story was inspired by Marian’s childhood aversion to washing dishes and her nieces’ reluctance to load the dishwasher. When Marian’s sister had a dream about living inside a dishwasher, Marian combined these elements into a whimsical fable.
