3 Days to Go: Citi of Books Counts Down to Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026

The countdown is officially underway. In just three days, the halls of Messe Frankfurt will begin welcoming the international publishing community for Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026, taking place from October 7 to 11. Publishers, authors, literary agents, booksellers, creative professionals, media representatives, and readers will come together for five days of literary discovery, professional exchange, and international connection.

This year’s fair will feature Czechia as Guest of Honour, bringing its literature and culture to Frankfurt through a major programme of authors and cultural events. With literature represented across fiction, poetry, comics, children’s and young adult books, non-fiction, and theatre, the Czech Guest of Honour programme will add a wide range of voices to this year’s international gathering.

Citi of Books is getting ready to join the event, bringing its authors and books into an environment where publishing opportunities can extend across languages, territories, and formats. Frankfurter Buchmesse serves as a place for professional meetings and rights discussions, while also creating opportunities to discover new ideas and connect with people working throughout the global publishing community.

The fair’s 2026 programme will also place attention on areas such as translations, audio, film and games, reflecting how stories can move beyond the printed page. For authors, these developments represent different ways their work can connect with audiences and create possibilities beyond traditional publishing channels.

With three days remaining, preparations are moving closer to the opening of one of the year’s major international publishing gatherings. Citi of Books looks forward to the conversations, connections, and discoveries that await in Frankfurt.

Three days to go. Frankfurt is getting ready, and another international chapter for books and authors is about to begin.
