Tomorrow, the long-awaited Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026 begins. From October 7 to 11, Frankfurt will welcome an international community connected by books, publishing, creativity, and storytelling. Across five days, the fair will bring together professionals and audiences for business meetings, literary events, cultural programmes, networking, and opportunities to discover what is shaping the future of the book industry.
This year’s gathering carries an additional cultural spotlight as Czechia takes the role of Guest of Honour. With 75 Czech authors participating and more than 100 literary and cultural events planned, the programme will introduce visitors to a broad range of Czech voices and creative work while adding another layer of international exchange to the fair.
Citi of Books will be part of this global publishing gathering, bringing its authors and books into a setting where stories can be discovered beyond their original markets. From rights and translation discussions to conversations about new formats and creative partnerships, Frankfurter Buchmesse provides numerous avenues for publishing professionals to explore how books can travel and connect with wider audiences.
The 2026 edition also marks a new chapter for the fair itself, with a reorganised hall concept intended to strengthen professional networking and create a more focused environment for business meetings. Combined with the fair’s literary and cultural programming, the changes highlight the continuing evolution of an industry where printed books, digital content, audio, screen adaptations, and other creative formats increasingly intersect.
After months of anticipation and preparation, there is now only one day to go. Tomorrow, the doors will open and the conversations will begin. Citi of Books looks forward to being part of the experience and to seeing its authors and books represented within this international gathering.
One day to go. Tomorrow, Frankfurt becomes a meeting place for stories, ideas, authors, and the people helping books find their way around the world.
