“Misplaced Anger” by Lois A. Kerr is a riveting novel that captures the fragility of life and the powerful ripple effects of a single tragedy. Set in the seemingly ordinary town of Kester, Illinois, the story explores how one event—the sudden death of a beloved father—shatters the stability of a close-knit family. Published by Citi of Books, this is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other major retail platforms.
Told through the eyes of Laura Parker, a determined young woman forced to grow up too fast, the novel navigates themes of grief, injustice, economic hardship, and personal transformation. It is a story that shines light on the deep emotional toll of sudden loss while showing the resilience of the human spirit and the unyielding power of love.
Lois A. Kerr was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. It was here that she met her husband of 30 years, Steve. They now reside in Mishawaka, Indiana. She retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse after 40 years. Being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother fuels her life. Husband, family and friends are her first passion. In her spare time, she loves to cook and sew quilts, many of which she donates.
Kester, a mid-sized and tightly woven community, is home to families who work hard and live simple lives. Among them are the Parkers—a humble and deeply loving family. David Parker, the father and provider, works at Martin Metal Fabrication, while his wife Sharon is a dedicated domestic worker. Their lives take a tragic turn when David is killed in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on his way home from work.
The grief that follows is immense and life-altering. Sharon and their daughter Laura are left to hold the family together for the sake of the younger twins, Elizabeth and Jeremiah.

What begins as an intimate family tragedy soon unfolds into a larger narrative of class division, injustice, and the unresolved mystery of who was behind the fatal crash.
