“Escaping the Delusions of Culture (ECD)” will challenge beliefs, assumptions and opinions, many of which have never been questioned. It is the writers hope that EDC will motivate the reader to look beyond emotional attachments to ideas, many of which have been adopted before one’s ability to make conscious decisions.
As I began to write what started to be a portrayal of my family history, I realized the need to acknowledge race, culture, politics and religion as key factors affecting not only my life but the lives of all Americans. These factors are inextricably bound in the consciousness and have been flash points through out history.
It is my desire to challenge minds and open eyes to a broader view of historical information. I am confident even the most skeptical will find my perspective and insights illuminating. I encourage the reader to put their assumptions aside, and prepare to escape the delusions of culture.
