75th Frankfurt Book Fair: Book Signing

The Frankfurt Book Fair celebrated its 75th anniversary, celebrating literary and cultural diversity. With a series of activities prepared, one of the most anticipated this year is the chosen country to be the guest of honor, which is Slovenia. The country will present not just its diverse, unique qualities as an attractive place to travel but also as a country with a rich literary tradition.

This year, Citi of Books will join the largest book fair in the world. We are excited to present books written by our distinguished authors. From fiction to nonfiction, a variety of books will be displayed in our designated booth. Aside from the book galley, we are also delighted to announce that two of our authors will be joining the event to interact and sign their books.

Join Dr. Michael Frank Varro, author of “Stories from the Boxcar,” as he will be signing his book at the Frankfurt Book Fair this Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10 a.m.–11 a.m.CET. He is a retired Methodist pastor, prison and hospice chaplain, missionary, teacher, counselor, and musician. He is from a three-generation family of Chinese missionaries. This ‘Quilogy’ (five books in one) is the story of his paternal Hungarian-immigrant heritage and his maternal-missionary heritage. It relates to his father’s boyhood home—a boxcar on a siding in Regina, Saskatchewan—from which came his father’s many stories and life’s lessons, which is the theme of Dr. Varro’s book—pictures of his own life, struggles, victories, and detours along the way.

Along with Dr. Varro, the author of the book “Above All,” Dr. Susan L. Bailey, will also participate in the book signing event this Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10 a.m.–11 a.m.CET. “Above All” is an extensive exploration and expansion of the themes found in Psalm 22. This psalm delves into the deep connection Christ had with God at his birth, the apparent betrayal he experienced during his earthly mission, and the glorious outcomes that arise from his suffering. The author skillfully combines references from both the Old Testament and New Testament along with their creative imagination to craft a narrative about God’s loving purpose for humanity, the plan for redemption from the fall, and, above all, the fulfillment of that redemption.

Don’t miss this chance to get along with them during the 75th Frankfurter Buchmesse.
