When Lynn learned to read, she discovered the joy, excitement, and possibilities that a good book provided. For Lynn, the world that she discovered through reading were often more real to her than her somewhat boring school days. More than once, her mother scolded Lynn for walking into a wall while reading. Soon Lynn wanted to contribute to those worlds she discovered through books. She wrote her first fictional book, a story of a young girl who discovered her beloved saddle horse might actually be the missing offspring of a famous racehorse, when she was about nine. About the same time, she also wrote a Christmas musical using beloved Christmas hymns as the basis of her story.
When Lynn met Jesus Christ and became His follower, the focus of her life and writing changed. Since them Lynn has written a lot! Most of her work has been scholarly papers for school with occasional fun projects tossed in [such as her radio script “As the Stomach Churns”]. She has also provided editing and ghostwriting services for others. However, she did not publish her first book until she finished Divinely Commissioned: God’s Delivery Service about six years ago. Since that time, Lynn has written two adult non-fiction works, plus a inspirational Christmas book, and a children’s book. She has a long list of other ideas under development.
“I am interested in all sorts of subjects. I see the wonder and glory of God everywhere. I wrote ‘The Donkey’s Tail’ in response to a challenge but like children’s books because I still have a big kid inside of my heart. I hope, however, that all my books will challenge and encourage folks of all ages and point them to the love of God.”
Lynn has been married to Mike for over 45 years. She has three grown children and a young dog named Jake whose sweet but demanding ways may end up in his becoming the subject of one of Lynn’s books in the future.
