Larry Bentley was born first of three kids on a farm in a small town in northeast Iowa in 1968. Grew up and went to a small-town school. He fulfilled his first dream of being a soldier when he dropped out of school in tenth grade and joined the Army. At 17 he became an infantryman. He served proudly for four years.
In 1987 he would meet the lady who would become his wife in 1990. During this period Larry and his wife would become members of a heavy metal band. During his time in the band, he co-wrote and copyrighted more than 120 songs and help produce three albums.
After the band broke up, it became time to settle down… Larry worked in produce, in factories, and eventually help positions in management and quality control. This all come to a crushing end when he was injured at home but could not return to work.
He then decided it was time to go back to school. He received his GED. Then went a bit further. He received AA degrees in business, accounting, and education. His bachelor’s degree in human resources would have to wait due to money issues, ie bills.
This would be Larry’s first book. With plans to write more, it seemed to be a good idea to learn more about who he is or was at the time of the writing.
Following the first publication of this book, Larry would receive two new hips, develop diabetes and over all just fell apart physically. Continued to work with persons with disabilities and mental illness. He is currently working on his second and third books. One will be a novel and the other will be a book of poetry. Currently looking forward to finishing them. Look for them soon.
