ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Donald Chadd has had a life-long interest in Native American history and culture. When he was ten years old he found a hand-written book with a detailed history and illustrations of the Indians in the Four Corners area of Colorado and was fascinated by what he saw and read. He was determined to learn more. Over the years, Donald developed personal relationships with many Native Americans as both a miner in the uranium mines of Colorado and later as a registered representative for Prudential Financial in Shiprock, New Mexico. During his time with Prudential, Donald handled the insurance and retirement plans for the Adolescent Treatment Center in Shiprock. There he had the opportunity to converse with several of the elders of the Navajo tribe and was introduced to the many problems the youth were facing on the reservation. These experiences made a lasting impression on him and ultimately lead to the writing of this book. In addition to his research and study of the Native American culture and his work as a financial advisor, Donald enjoyed raising German Shepherds which he donated to the military and teaching classes on the Constitution. He presently lives in the state of Washington with his wife and youngest daughter.
