Every year, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books becomes livelier and brighter due to the growing number of attendees. From book lovers, casual readers, and literary collectors to authors and publishers, people gathered to celebrate literacy.
The largest book festival in the US opened its doors last April for a glamorous two-day weekend celebration with the bookworms. Held at the University of Southern California, many book enthusiasts, book lovers, and book collectors, as well as writers, established authors, and many more, attended the free event.
A lot of bookfair-goers went by the Citi of Books booth to check for their next read and potential favorite book. One of the books that were chosen is “The Special Little Star” by Tracy Marie Filigenzi. It was displayed on April 20th and 21st at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California.
Tracy Marie Filigenzi, the author, dedicated this book to her daughter, as she wanted her to remember the bond they held and forged in the quiet hours of story-filled nights.
“The Special Little Star” is a tale of one of those stars. He is a small star with big dreams. He dreams of being like the other, larger stars, of no longer being teased because he doesn’t shine as brightly. When joy and happiness enter the world in the form of a tiny baby boy, this special star may just get his wish.
The book was also recommended by The US Review of Books’ Jonah Meyer, who highlighted, “In large part, what makes this book so special and enticing to share with young children is its gentle voice. Also, the story’s simplicity, both with the text used and the accompanying artwork, somehow makes it more effective.”
Tracy Filigenzi gives a new angle to the Christmas story. A story about the Christmas star, the brightly shining star that led the Wise Men to Bethlehem and then to baby Jesus. Children will read this heartwarming tale again and again.
