Citi of Books proudly brought the books of our remarkable authors to the heart of the 39th Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), turning our space into a lively corner where stories, ideas, and creativity met.
Being part of FIL from November 29 to December 7, in Expo Guadalajara, Av. Mariano Otero 1599, Col. Verde Valle, Guadalajara, Jalisco, meant more than simply displaying books—it meant becoming part of a larger cultural heartbeat. Our gallery served as a bridge between authors and curious readers, offering a close-up look at stories that deserve the spotlight. From powerful biographies to practical guides, and from imaginative fiction to soul-stirring reflections, our curated collection drew in visitors who left with new favorites in hand. And with the vibrant spirit of FIL all around us, every conversation, recommendation, and smile felt like a reminder of why we love sharing books with the world.
With FIL’s electric atmosphere—filled with authors, readers, and cultures from around the globe—our gallery became a warm stop for visitors eager to discover fresh voices and inspiring works. Among the standout titles we showcased was “God Speaks: Origin (Volume 1)” by Lynn Watkins, TH.D.
Lynn Watkins, TH.D, has been chasing stories for as long as she can remember. From the moment she learned to read, books became her doorway to joy, excitement, and endless possibility. As a child, the worlds she found in stories felt far more vivid than her everyday school life—so vivid, in fact, that she occasionally walked into walls while reading, much to her mother’s frustration. By nine years old, Lynn wasn’t just exploring fictional worlds; she was creating them. Her early works included a tale about a girl and her mysteriously famous horse, as well as a Christmas musical inspired by beloved hymns.
Everything changed when Lynn met Jesus Christ and devoted her life to following Him. Her writing transformed too, shifting toward purpose-driven, faith-centered work. Over the years, she penned numerous scholarly papers and sprinkled in fun, creative projects—including a playful radio script titled As the Stomach Churns. Although she had long served as an editor and ghostwriter, Lynn didn’t publish her first book until completing Divinely Commissioned: God’s Delivery Service. Since then, her catalog has grown to include adult nonfiction, an inspirational Christmas book, and a children’s title, with many more ideas waiting in the wings.
Lynn writes with curiosity, wonder, and a deep awareness of God’s presence in everyday life. She delights in children’s literature—claiming she still carries a “big kid” inside her heart—and hopes every book she creates will encourage readers of all ages and point them toward God’s love.
Outside of writing, Lynn enjoys life with her husband, Mike, her three grown children, and Jake, her affectionate and slightly demanding young dog—who just might become the star of a future story. You can contact Lynn at drlynnwat08@gmail.com.
What is a prophecy? Is there more than one type of prophecy? Why did prophets appear? When did prophets first appear?
In this book, “God Speaks: Origins,” Lynn answers these and other questions by revealing how God’s desire to fellowship with man impacted the development of prophetic ministry from the time of creation through the end of the Old Testament period. Her focus is on relating practical answers concerning prophetic ministry to God’s desire to have an intimate relationship with each one of us.
