As the pages of history turn, we find ourselves reflecting on a remarkable milestone—the 30th Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, the largest book festival in the United States, held on April 26-27, 2025. Set against the stunning backdrop of the University of Southern California campus, this annual celebration of literature brought together thousands of book lovers, authors, and industry professionals for a weekend brimming with literary magic.

Attracting around 150,000 attendees from Southern California and beyond, the festival was a testament to the enduring appeal of literature and the community it fosters. Each event, each conversation, and each shared moment contributed to a rich tapestry of experiences that celebrated the diverse voices and stories that shape our world.

In collaboration with Citi of Books, the author of “The Feast of Angels,” Denis R. Tougas, held a successful book signing event during the 2025 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

Denis Raymond Tougas is a retired engineer married to an Australian artist and currently living in South California. As for writing, it was during his time at GM that Denis began to write in earnest after being challenged by his best friend John, a Scottish artist whose friendship will never be forgotten.

Denis’ first story was a fifty–page short story that so impressed John and his family, that they further pushed him to write an entire book.  All this rekindled Denis’ love of English and started his new passion for writing.  He finished four books and several others at various stages of completion. Denis enters the writing world with The Feast of Angels; his first self-published work and dedicated to his deceased friend.

His book was featured by Citi of Books during the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair last October 2024. Denis R Tougas also signed and gave out copies of his book at that event.
