Los Angeles Times Festival of Books Recap: Dale Anthony Pivarunas’ Memorable Book Signing of “The Absolute Failure of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism Including Critical Commentaries on The Gospel of Matthew, Genesis, Exodus, the Mitzvot And The Quran”

As the pages of history turn, we find ourselves reflecting on a remarkable milestone—the 30th Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, the largest book festival in the United States, held on April 26-27, 2025. Set against the stunning backdrop of the University of Southern California campus, this annual celebration of literature brought together thousands of book lovers, authors, and industry professionals for a weekend brimming with literary magic.

Attracting around 150,000 attendees from Southern California and beyond, the festival was a testament to the enduring appeal of literature and the community it fosters. Each event, each conversation, and each shared moment contributed to a rich tapestry of experiences that celebrated the diverse voices and stories that shape our world.

In collaboration with Citi of Books, the author of “The Absolute Failure of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism Including Critical Commentaries on The Gospel of Matthew, Genesis, Exodus, the Mitzvot And The Quran,” Dale Anthony Pivarunas, held a successful book signing event during the 2025 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

Dale Anthony Pivarunas holds an impressive array of academic qualifications, including a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a bachelor’s degree in theology, a master’s degree in business administration, and a master’s degree in operations research. Throughout his career, he has faced the challenges of four layoffs, each accompanied by periods of unemployment. Despite these setbacks, he has diligently worked two jobs simultaneously to provide for and support his family. Over the past decade, Mr. Pivarunas has devoted himself to in-depth study, reflection, and research on the subjects explored in his book.

His book was featured by Citi of Books during the 75th Frankfurt International Book Fair last October 2023 and during the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

“The Absolute Failure of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism: Including Critical Commentaries on The Gospel of Matthew, Genesis, Exodus, the Mitzvot And The Quran” is a critical book that argues that major religions like Christianity, Judaism, and Islam have failed in their core mission of promoting good.

The author points out global conflicts and social issues, questioning why religious leaders haven’t taken a stronger stance against them. Pivarunas believes these religions are man-made and based on myths, urging followers to question their clergy and prioritize living a good life over rituals and beliefs.
