On August 1, 2001, Kathleen Wensel awoke feeling inexplicably ill, burdened by dizziness, headaches, and an overwhelming sense of dread. Despite her usual positivity, she felt compelled to write down her chaotic thoughts as her physical symptoms intensified.

As the weeks passed, her anxiety grew, leading her to suspect something catastrophic was imminent. On September 11, as she witnessed the tragic attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, her fears were confirmed, connecting her deeply to the collective grief of millions.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, Kathleen resolved to transform her experiences into a book and journal titled “FREEDOM IS…,” aimed at exploring and documenting thoughts on freedom. This project was not only a way to process her own feelings but also to encourage others to reflect on their own perspectives on liberty. She hoped this book would serve as a lasting treasure, inviting future generations to consider the value of freedom in their lives.

“Freedom Is… A Book/Journal with a Twist” is a personal exploration of the concept of freedom, inspired by the author’s experiences. The book combines her reflections on freedom with interactive journal sections that invite readers to document their own thoughts and perspectives. Kathleen aims to inspire meaningful dialogue about liberty, encouraging readers to appreciate and advocate for their rights.

Throughout the book, she seeks to create a communal space for individuals to reflect on their values and celebrate the diversity of thought surrounding freedom. Kathleen envisions this work as a lasting resource that resonates with readers of all ages, prompting them to contribute to a world that values and protects freedom for all.
