Each year, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books buzzes with increasing energy and vibrancy as more attendees flock to the event. From avid readers and casual book lovers to literary enthusiasts and industry professionals, crowds gather to celebrate the joy of reading.
As the largest book festival in the United States, the event kicked off with a grand two-day celebration last April at the University of Southern California. Visitors, including book enthusiasts, collectors, authors, and publishers, enjoyed the festivities free of charge.
Many attendees gravitated towards the Citi of Books booth in search of their next literary adventure and to meet up with their favorite author. Last April 20th, at the University of Southern California, Matthew McNeal signed and gave out copies of his guidebook, “Drakkynn.”
Matthew McNeal has pursued education at Fairmont State College in West Virginia, Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences for his BSN via online learning, and Midwestern University in Arizona. He has served as a registered nurse since 1999 and obtained certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 2011. Presently, he resides in Mesa, Arizona, alongside his wife and their array of pets including dogs, cats, and tortoises.
“Drakkynn” is an electrifying novel centered around Colonel Conner Allan, the lone survivor of a catastrophic event that claimed the lives of countless soldiers. This riveting narrative promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats, delivering a gripping tale of one man’s brush with death and his miraculous survival.
Following a massacre that decimates an entire unit of soldiers, Colonel Conner Allan finds himself endowed with newfound abilities and extraordinary strength. As he grapples with the possibility of his own immortality, he embarks on a quest to track down the perpetrators responsible for the theft of a prototype weapon of unimaginable power. With the odds stacked against him, he must heed the counsel of an old friend and come to realize the paramount importance of his mission only when it is nearly too late.
Matthew McNeal was brimming with excitement as he conversed with attendees at the book festival. He particularly relished engaging with fair-goers. The event proved to be a delightful and engaging experience for everyone who participated.
