The book fair where creativity meets the future, London Book Fair, opened its doors last March 11-13, 2025, in Olympia, London. Drawing around 30,000 attendees, this year’s London Book Fair showcased the vibrant world of publishing and creative content, marking a significant milestone in the industry.   The fair not only maintained its impressive attendance figures but also celebrated a 10-percent boost in rights-center table sales compared to 2024.

Citi of Books is proud to have been part of this prestigious event, representing the incredible works of our talented authors in stand 7B94.  In our assigned booth, a range of books—from fiction to nonfiction—would be on exhibit. A book included in the gallery was “Citizen of the USA by Choice: The Difficult Decision Made by Juan, to Become a Citizen of the Unites States of America, and the Arduous Road he Took on Becoming a Licensed Architect in the USA” by Juan Baires-Adair.

Juan was born in Mexico City. His love for Mexico was marred by the dirty politics and corruption that he encountered in the Mexican government of the 1970’s. This fact made him, and his family decide to emigrate to the United States of America, where he continued to pursue the decision to become a licensed architect, while assimilating to the United States of America’s culture to become a Citizen Of The USA By Choice.

In “Citizen of the USA by Choice,” the author offers a poignant and deeply personal narrative that sheds light on the struggles faced by immigrants seeking refuge and a better life in the United States. Through his eyes, readers are taken on a journey that highlights the harsh realities of fleeing one’s homeland, where safety, economic stability, and personal liberty often feel like distant dreams. Juan’s story is not just a reflection of his own experiences but a broader commentary on the challenges that countless immigrants endure as they navigate the complexities of leaving behind everything they know in search of a brighter future.

As Juan recounts his own experiences with a corrupt government, he paints a vivid picture of the obstacles that can make the decision to emigrate both daunting and necessary. His narrative captures the emotional turmoil of leaving family and friends behind, as well as the fear and uncertainty that accompany such a monumental choice.

Juan’s path to becoming a Licensed Architect in the United States adds another layer to his story. It illustrates the dedication and hard work required to overcome barriers in a new country, especially in a field that demands both skill and recognition. His journey serves as an inspiring reminder that, despite the challenges, the pursuit of one’s passions can lead to fulfillment and success.
