Since 1996, the American Library Association (ALA) has been a cornerstone of support for library workers and advocates, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
In recent years, the ALA has responded to an unprecedented surge in local and statewide book challenges by creating a comprehensive clearinghouse of resources. This initiative aims to assist library professionals and advocates in navigating these challenges, ensuring that they can effectively support one another and uphold the fundamental right to access information. With a wealth of resources including webinars, resource guides, sample policies, and tip sheets, the ALA empowers friends and trustees to understand the stakes involved and their critical role in protecting access to diverse literature.
For the second time around, Citi of Books is thrilled to be in this prestigious conference, bringing along 18 diverse voices from our remarkable authors. This year, we are excited to showcase a range of perspectives and stories that reflect the rich tapestry of our literary community.
Our presence at the ALA conference not only highlights the importance of diverse narratives but also reinforces our commitment to supporting libraries and the vital role they play in fostering a love for reading and learning.
The conference provided a platform for our authors to engage with library professionals and readers alike, sparking meaningful conversations about the importance of representation in literature. As we gear up for this year’s event, we are eager to continue building these connections and advocating for access to diverse voices in every library across the nation.
Let’s take a moment to revisit last year’s ALA experience for Citi of Books! Our participation was a resounding success, as we connected with fellow advocates, shared insights, and celebrated the power of literature to inspire and unite. Below are some snaps from last year’s event.
