Held from October 7 to 11, 2026, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the 78th Frankfurter Buchmesse brought together members of the international book and media industry for a five-day celebration of literature, publishing, and creative exchange. As one of the major meeting points for the global publishing community, the fair created a space where publishers, authors, literary agents, booksellers, rights professionals, distributors, and other industry representatives could meet, share ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration. Beyond showcasing books from different parts of the world, the event encouraged meaningful conversations about the future of publishing, the changing interests of readers, and the many ways stories can reach audiences across languages and cultures.

The book joins a diverse collection of literary works featured at the fair, representing the creativity, unique perspectives, and storytelling approaches that make the publishing world vibrant and diverse. Its presence at the event offers an opportunity to introduce the author’s work to a broader international audience while contributing to the exchange of stories and ideas among readers, authors, and publishing professionals. Through the representation of titles across various genres and themes, Citi of Books continues to support opportunities for authors to expand their reach and connect with new audiences in the global literary community.
Four Harvard students embark upon a ninety-day Medical Studies Abroad Program. Expected at one village to work with the local health promoter, their boat is stuck in a sandbar, the crew abandons them, and they are later kidnapped by a hostile tribe. Just before they are executed, the village chief returns from a fishing trip and stops the execution. An unknown disease has ravaged the village, claiming the life of the chief’s wife, and now, his only daughter hangs on by a thread. Through divine intervention, the students are given a chance to try and save the daughter’s life. Can they find a cure before she dies too? Can they find the cause of this deadly disease before this and other villages are annihilated? Can the shaman’s jungle medicine be part of the cure? It is a race against time, cultural differences, and an evil plot to destroy the villagers and the students sent to save them. Can one man’s faith in his childhood God spare their lives and expose the wicked plans of the enemy?
“Jungle Medicine” by Joelynn Daugherty is a captivating read that brings together adventure, suspense, medicine, and faith in a compelling and meaningful story. One of its strongest elements is the way the characters’ medical knowledge is tested by the unpredictable challenges of the jungle, while their encounters with local people introduce them to unfamiliar beliefs, customs, and traditions.
The story maintains a steady sense of suspense, keeping readers curious about what might happen next. At the same time, it explores important themes of faith, bravery, compassion, and placing trust in God when circumstances become uncertain and difficult.
