“You made the wish. You said you wished you could go see what really happened back in Bethlehem on Christmas night. People wonder about that this time of year. So, once every Christmas Eve, your Christmas Eve that is, I can take one new angel back to Bethlehem for an eye-witness view. Interested?”

Frustrated by her family’s annual retelling of the Christmas story, Jamie wonders what truly happened in Bethlehem and wishes that she could see it for herself. Her wish unexpectedly comes true when the Christmas angel beside her family’s nativity scene comes to life.
Guided by the humorous and unconventional archangel Gabriel, Jamie travels through a magical realm known as “Any-when,” encounters angels and historical figures, meets shepherds and the Magus Gaspar, and eventually reaches Bethlehem. Along the way, she learns that the true meaning of Christmas is not found in receiving everything one wants but in compassion, generosity, humility, kindness, and the willingness to give to others.
Blending humor, fantasy, Christian tradition, and heartfelt lessons, “The Archangel’s Gift” offers readers a fresh and imaginative perspective on the Christmas story. It is a tale about seeing familiar traditions with new eyes and discovering that even the smallest act of kindness can become a meaningful gift.
The story is compelling because it presents a familiar Christmas story from a fresh and imaginative perspective. Instead of simply retelling the Nativity, Dick Morgan allows readers to experience it through Jamie, a curious child who wants to see the truth behind the story for herself. Her questions make the ancient story feel immediate, personal, and alive.
“The Archangel’s Gift” reminds readers that the meaning of Christmas is found not only in the celebration of receiving but in the joy of giving. Through Jamie’s extraordinary journey across time, Dick Morgan offers a warm, humorous, and imaginative story that encourages readers to look beyond familiar traditions and rediscover the compassion, humility, and generosity at the heart of the Christmas season.
