The pages may have turned on another remarkable edition of the Hong Kong Book Fair, but the conversations, connections, and discoveries created throughout the event continue to leave a lasting impression. From 15 to 21 July 2026, the 36th Hong Kong Book Fair welcomed publishers, authors, readers, literary professionals, and cultural enthusiasts to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, creating a vibrant celebration of books, ideas, and cultural exchange. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, this year’s event carried the theme “Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys,” inviting visitors to explore the world through reading, culture, and the many stories that connect people across generations.
For Citi of Books, participating in the Hong Kong Book Fair 2026 was a meaningful opportunity to become part of one of Asia’s most anticipated literary gatherings. The event brought together more than 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions across the Book Fair and its concurrent exhibitions, creating a truly international atmosphere throughout the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The fair once again demonstrated the important role that books continue to play in encouraging cultural exchange, introducing new perspectives, and bringing readers closer to stories from around the world.
The theme of this year’s fair, “Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys,” provided a fitting backdrop for an event centered on discovery. Through books and the many cultural activities held throughout the programme, visitors were encouraged to explore traditions, experiences, and perspectives from different parts of the world. More than 600 onsite and offsite cultural activities formed part of the broader “Cultural July • Joyful Summer Reading” programme, creating opportunities for readers to engage with literature in many different ways.
The event was especially significant because it provided a platform to showcase the creativity and dedication of our authors to an international audience. Every book displayed represented an author’s unique perspective, years of effort, and desire to share a meaningful story with readers.
