Over the years, Citi of Books has actively participated in a wide range of international literary events, including book fairs, publishing conferences, exhibitions, author showcases, and book signings. These events have provided valuable opportunities to connect with readers, build relationships within the publishing industry, and introduce talented authors to broader audiences. Through its continued commitment to promoting diverse voices and meaningful stories, Citi of Books has established itself as a publishing partner dedicated to helping authors reach readers around the world.
Building on the success of its 2025 edition, the BIBF remains committed to fostering cultural connections through literature. Held from June 17–21 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, this year’s fair once again brings together publishers, authors, industry professionals, and readers from across the globe for five days of literary discovery, rights negotiations, educational initiatives, and meaningful cultural exchange.
Citi of Books was honored to showcase the work of its talented authors on the international stage, presenting a diverse range of titles at the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair. This prestigious global event provided an invaluable opportunity to connect these works with readers, publishers, and literary professionals from around the world while celebrating the power of books to bridge cultures and inspire meaningful conversations. Among the featured works that drew attention from attendees was “CeCe” by JR Conway.
For many career law enforcement professionals, retirement is not the end of their involvement with crime and justice. In “CeCe,” JR Conway shows how old connections and hard-earned expertise can unexpectedly pull them back into society’s underworld.
“CeCe” delves into the harrowing realities faced by those who find themselves entangled in the darker aspects of society. The narrative begins with three runaway kids—Beth, CeCe, and her brother Daniel—who escape their oppressive hometown of Sweetwater, TX, where traditional gender roles dictate that men are the “Chosen ones,” and women exist to serve them. This backdrop sets the stage for a gripping exploration of abuse, survival, and the quest for freedom, as the children seek to break free from the chains of their upbringing.
Beth and CeCe’s journey is fueled by their desire to escape the suffocating environment created by Beth’s alcoholic father, Walt, who treats his wife and daughter as mere servants. In contrast, CeCe’s home life is more stable, but her brother Daniel suffers from a lack of understanding regarding his suspected autism, leading to severe mistreatment at the hands of their mother. The stark differences in their experiences highlight the various forms of abuse that can exist within families, ultimately driving the children to make the life-altering decision to run away. Their escape is not just a physical journey but also a profound emotional quest for autonomy and self-identity.
“CeCe” is not just a story about three children; it also weaves in various crime scenes and the broader implications of abuse and neglect in society. Through Craig Spence’s character, the narrative explores the haunting effects of a career in law enforcement, where the shadows of the past often resurface, challenging the notion of safety and justice. As readers dive into this compelling tale, they are invited to reflect on the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of compassion in the face of adversity.
As BIBF continues to unite readers, writers, and publishers across continents, Citi of Books remains proud to contribute to this global celebration of storytelling and knowledge. We look forward to the continued growth of international literary connections at BIBF 2026 and beyond, where books serve as bridges between cultures, ideas, and generations.
