Magdalene Patricia Balloy (known also as Madelene) was born on the island of Granada, British West Indies. Her childhood was one of deprivation and abuse. Awaken from Darkness is a chronological and inspirational record of Magdalene’s life journey, beginning with an out-of-body death experience, when Jesus, in a glowing robe of pure light, appeared to her. She describes in detail all that has transpired since that phenomenal experience and relates everything of substance in her life’s journey since that miraculous “born-again” occurrence. Awaken from Darkness relates Magdalene’s personal and intimate story of life challenges, defeats, triumphs, and accomplishments.
She lives in Palm Desert, California, and is the mother of one daughter, two sons, (one is in heaven now with his dad, Arthur, her husband) She has two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. She’s a published poet, an active member of Sacred Heart Church. She served as a volunteer on the chaplaincy team at Eisenhower Medical Center. And, as a chairperson for Magnificat a Ministry to Catholic Woman.
Magdalene has now retired from all ministries because of her failing health. Nevertheless, her journey continues daily, with Jesus, as she merges with Him, into the purifying light of God’s unconditionally Love.
