The 2025 China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) once again brought magic to life from November 14 to 16 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC). Celebrating over a decade of inspiring young minds, CCBF continues to live up to its powerful motto—“Embracing the Future.” More than just a book fair, it has grown into a vibrant hub where creativity, storytelling, and innovation meet. As one of the leading global platforms for children’s book publishing, CCBF connects authors, illustrators, publishers, and readers in an atmosphere bursting with imagination and possibility.
Beyond the colorful displays of books and illustrations, this year’s fair featured a dynamic lineup of events—from insightful conferences and seminars to the prestigious Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition, the engaging Illustrators Avenue, and the inspiring Children Plus Exhibition. Each activity reflected CCBF’s unwavering mission to promote quality children’s literature and nurture a lifelong love for reading among the young.
Citi of Books (COB) was thrilled to be part of this event! Traveling all the way from Albuquerque to Beijing, COB proudly featured 16 remarkable titles from our talented authors. Among the standout selections that captivated attendees was “Stop Using Your Mind: Get Healthier and Happier in Seven Days Using Meditation and Diet” by Celia Ko.
Celia Ko was born in China, raised in the vibrant city of Hong Kong, and pursued her college studies in both Taiwan and Hawaii—an experience that enriched her artistic and cultural perspective. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Religion from the University of Hawaii, where her passion for both creativity and spirituality began to merge. A gifted watercolor and oil painter, Celia channels her deep appreciation for life and mindfulness into her art, while also expressing her thoughts and wisdom through her published works written in Chinese.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Celia has been an active member of the literary and wellness communities in Hawaii. Since 1997, she has served as the Treasurer of the Hawaii Chinese Writers’ Association and continues to contribute her leadership and insight as the organization’s Vice President. She also holds the position of Vice President at Hawaii Xing Yuan Tang (Realizing Your Will), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting inner peace and well-being. Through this group, Celia helps facilitate meditation and yoga classes twice a week, encouraging members to cultivate mindfulness, balance, and harmony in their daily lives. Her work—both artistic and spiritual—reflects her lifelong mission to inspire others to find beauty, purpose, and tranquility within themselves.
