As the pages of history turn, we find ourselves reflecting on a remarkable milestone—the 30th Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, the largest book festival in the United States, held on April 26-27, 2025. Set against the stunning backdrop of the University of Southern California campus, this annual celebration of literature brought together thousands of book lovers, authors, and industry professionals for a weekend brimming with literary magic.

Attracting around 150,000 attendees from Southern California and beyond, the festival was a testament to the enduring appeal of literature and the community it fosters. Each event, each conversation, and each shared moment contributed to a rich tapestry of experiences that celebrated the diverse voices and stories that shape our world.

This year, Citi of Books was thrilled to be part of this vibrant gathering, where the love for literature was palpable in the air. Whether you were a lifelong bibliophile or a curious newcomer exploring the world of books, the festival provided a unique opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts and share our passion for the written word.

As we look back on this unforgettable weekend, we invite you to join us in reliving the highlights of Citi of Books’ gallery during the 30th Los Angeles Times Festival of Books—a true celebration of the literary arts! A book included in the gallery was “Mapping The Road To Your Destiny” by Rodolfo (Rudy) Blanco.

Rodolfo (Rudy) Blanco is the founder and president of Pathway Services Inc. company dedicated to serve government transportation agencies in the field of pavement and road asset management. Now more than twenty years old, the company has grown to provide their services to more than half the state transportation agencies in the United States as well as and in other countries.

Rudy has a bachelor’s degree in Ingenieria de Production Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University. Rudy and his wife, Lavone, have been married for thirty-seven years, and have seven children.

In “Mapping The Road To Your Destiny,” author Rudy Blanco shares his inspiring journey from humble beginnings to becoming the owner of Pathway Services Inc., a successful business dedicated to assessing and restoring roadways for cities, states, and countries. Rudy draws a compelling parallel between mapping physical roads and navigating the personal journeys we all undertake in life. He believes that just as we can analyze and improve our roads, we can also take stock of our lives to uncover our true destinies.

Rudy’s mission is to help readers identify and understand their own paths, encouraging them to seek fulfillment and joy. He addresses common questions many face, such as “Why am I here? What is my purpose?” Through his narrative, he reassures readers that they are not alone in their search for meaning and that a higher power is invested in their journeys. His story particularly resonates with those who feel lost or uncertain about their dreams, offering hope and guidance to anyone eager to make a difference in their lives.

The book recounts Rudy’s transformative pact with God, where he committed to giving Him ten years to help him achieve his dream of owning a business. This leap of faith led him on an incredible journey filled with opportunities and lessons. Just before the decade he promised, Rudy founded his company, facing challenges along the way, including securing necessary funds. His experiences illustrate that with determination, faith, and divine guidance, anyone can achieve their dreams. “Mapping The Road To Your Destiny” serves as both a memoir and a motivational guide, inviting readers to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and fulfillment while encouraging them to trust in God to unlock their potential.
