As the pages of history turn, we find ourselves reflecting on a remarkable milestone—the 30th Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, the largest book festival in the United States, held on April 26-27, 2025. Set against the stunning backdrop of the University of Southern California campus, this annual celebration of literature brought together thousands of book lovers, authors, and industry professionals for a weekend brimming with literary magic.
Attracting around 150,000 attendees from Southern California and beyond, the festival was a testament to the enduring appeal of literature and the community it fosters. Each event, each conversation, and each shared moment contributed to a rich tapestry of experiences that celebrated the diverse voices and stories that shape our world.
This year, Citi of Books was thrilled to be part of this vibrant gathering, where the love for literature was palpable in the air. Whether you were a lifelong bibliophile or a curious newcomer exploring the world of books, the festival provided a unique opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts and share our passion for the written word.
As we look back on this unforgettable weekend, we invite you to join us in reliving the highlights of Citi of Books’ gallery during the 30th Los Angeles Times Festival of Books—a true celebration of the literary arts! A book included in the gallery was “Office of the Prophet: A Comprehensive Study” by Janice Wagner.
The author, Janice E. Wagner, considers herself a normal human being who received Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 12. She has experienced numerous trials, including health issues that resulted in healing. As a Christian, the author often asks the Lord how her trials can bring honor to His name.
Janice has made many mistakes in life, but the Lord has transformed her. She gives all glory to the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit for who she is today, and all that the Lord has done in and through her. In 1979, the Lord called Janice to be His mouthpiece to the body of Christ. The author is amazed by the way her Lord has used her and the words He has given to the body of Christ through her.
She believes that the Lord can speak through any of His children once they have been infused with the power of the Holy Spirit. She encourages others to listen to the Lord’s voice and repeat what they hear. If they have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and have been commissioned by God to minister as a prophet, they are ready for an interesting journey.
“Office of the Prophet: A Comprehensive Study” by Janice E. Wagner is an insightful examination rooted in scripture, focusing on the manifestation gifts of the Holy Spirit. This study was specifically crafted for the altar workers at The People’s Church of Santa Fe in New Mexico. Wagner highlights that the primary functions of basic prophecy are to provide edification (instruction), exhortation (encouragement), and comfort.
The study seeks to clarify the distinction between the gift of prophecy and the office of the prophet.
In her work, Janice provides valuable instruction on how to operate within the office of the prophet, which is one of the five-fold ministry gifts. She discusses how believers can recognize their calling to the prophetic office, outlines the nine manifestation gifts of the Holy Spirit, and explains how prophets can effectively use these gifts as tools to communicate the Lord’s messages.
Ultimately, “Office of the Prophet: A Comprehensive Study” aims to deepen readers’ understanding of how God has utilized various prophets throughout the Old and New Testaments, enriching their appreciation of the prophetic ministry.
