Great books started from great authors. The author of “Inspirational Stories That Spark Our Emotions and Touch the Heart and Soul,” Pamela J. Fiecke, is proudly introduced by Citi of Books as one of its remarkable authors.
The author, Pamela J. Fiecke, just like any other insecure child, she was heading off to school, scared and unsure of who she would meet. Her stomach turned as she saw the big, orange, spacious school bus. All she wanted was her mom and her puppy! She attended a parochial school system at the elementary level, where she developed a strong religious background. On a daily basis, she was loved, encouraged, and taught about Jesus, with a focus on faith and the word of God. She was taught morals, values, integrity, and evangelization in a very concrete way, and she lived out those teachings as an example for others. In the 4th grade, her parochial school closed, leaving no other option but to transition to the public school system.
She loved writing, which was a constant companion. A piece of paper lay before her and a pencil in her hand as she learned the fundamentals of Creative Writing 1 and 2, later excelling in advanced creative writing. Before graduating high school, she became the author of her first published book, Yesterday’s Tears Become Tomorrow’s Smiles, at the age of 18. Her teacher praised her excellence in writing. After high school, she continued writing in silence, but never abandoned the craft. She took aptitude tests for writing children’s books and achieved excellent results. She participated in a Writer Guild Training Session, discovering that her skills were on par with professional authors. She then ventured into business, sales, and service with Home Interiors and Gifts, learning many positive tools for success, which inspired her to live a healthy, productive life as a woman.
In 2004, she was selected as the Hometown Hero for her community of Winsted for outstanding service. Over the years, she successfully ran, organized, and volunteered for many community functions. In 2005, the Herald Journal Newspaper, with Chris Schultz, CEO/Publisher, and Dale Kovar, General Manager, contacted her, offering her a column to continue her Inspirational Stories. She became a columnist, and her column, Inspirational Thoughts, allowed her writing to blossom and shine. She expanded her religious beliefs by coordinating and teaching Sunday School at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted, a role she held for 21 years, enriching the experience for her family and their four children.
In 2006, she began writing Momentous Writings for the deceased, personalizing inspirational writings framed to honor loved ones at wakes or funerals, accompanied by a lit candle and flowers or greenery. These writings were gifts to families on behalf of their deceased loved ones. In 2008, many of her writings were copyrighted through Direct Legal and were stored in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. She and her son, Brandon, also participated in missionary work in Jamaica, helping those less fortunate.
She worked at Sterner Lighting in Winsted, MN, for 19 1/2 years in manufacturing, assembling light fixtures and serving on their safety committee, until the company closed. She then went to Crown College in Hutchinson, MN, and became a registered Nursing Assistant in 2009, continuing in a full-time position as a “Care Specialist” RA in a dementia care setting in Dassel/Darwin, MN. She taught devotions and activities to the elderly and assisted ministers with communion visits. She was eventually selected as Employee of the Month. Later, she worked in nursing assistant/home health aide roles and continued with Dominion Cares, providing in-home care in various communities.
In 2011, she wrote and framed “Forever You Will Be My Parents” for Fr. Anthony Hesse, which was signed by Fr. Tony and given to his parents. In 2012, for Winsted’s 125th anniversary, she wrote “Winsted’s 125th Anniversary”, which was presented to the mayor and displayed in the city building for the public to read. Later that year, HILLTOP Records discovered her inspirational writings in the Library of Congress and contacted her to submit songs. Though she had never written a song, she composed five, and HILLTOP Records contracted all of them, starting with “A Halo and a Set of Golden Wings.” She was now officially a lyricist, and the song was played on KDUZ radio. She then submitted her other four songs to Paramount Song of Nashville, who contracted all of them, resulting in her first CD release.
In 2013, her song “Walking Down That Stumbling Road” was featured on a Christmas compilation CD. She continued to write lyrics, and her songs were well received, with music added to her lyrics by various musicians. In 2016, she organized family-themed bingo events in Winsted, raising funds for non-profit organizations. These events, “Fishing with the Bunny” and “Chicken Bingo,” were successful, attracting over 400 people.
Through her work with Dominion Cares, she was recognized for her article “Taking Care of the Elderly with a Positive Outcome”, which earned a 5-star rating from Indeed. Alongside her job, she maintained her role as a columnist with the Herald Journal, writing monthly stories, continuing her momentous writings for the deceased, writing lyrics and novels, and organizing successful community events.
She continually helps and supports the Winsted community, participating in events like the Festival Parade festivities and assisting with the Winstock Country Music Event for Holy Trinity Church and School, as well as offering help wherever needed in the community. She received numerous calls from Citi of Books out of Albuquerque, NM, who had been searching for her and wanted to be part of her novel, “Inspirational Stories that Spark Our Emotions and Touch the Heart and Soul.” A scout had discovered her book at the Los Angeles, CA, book fair and recognized its quality, seeking to add their company’s name and distribute it. After three years, another agency expressed interest in her book, which was an exciting development. Citi of Books planned to release a third edition of her book, which would be distributed nationwide, online, and in major bookstores, including Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and Powell’s, the largest bookstore in the U.S. She still has the rights to her book and finds enjoyment in all her writing styles and plans to continue sharing the gifts she has been blessed with, both now and in the future.
