The world’s largest bookfair, Frankfurter Buchmesse, opened its doors last October 16-20, 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany. For worldwide business and trading, it is regarded as the most significant book fair on earth. More than 4,300 exhibitors and an expected 114,000 trade visitors from 131 countries, welcoming rights professionals from a total of 355 agencies and publishers make the Frankfurt Book Fair a place of endless discoveries. On the stages we experienced exciting international voices.
As the Frankfurter Buchmesse celebrates its anniversary for another year of serving the industry, Citi of Books did not miss the chance to join the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) in Frankfurt, Germany. This spectacular gathering honors fascinating works and their creators.
With a series of activities prepared, one of the most anticipated this year is the chosen country to be the guest of honor, which is Italy. The country will present not just its diverse, unique qualities as an attractive place to travel but also as a country with a rich literary tradition.
Citi of Books is excited to present books written by our distinguished authors. In our assigned booth, a range of books—from fiction to nonfiction—would be on exhibit. A book included in the gallery was “One Step From Glory – America in World War One” by Sidney Phelps Little.
Sidney Phelps Little was a graduate of business management. He owned and ran his own printing and computer supply business until 1994. After selling that business, he flew as a contract flight instructor at Kirtland Flight Center at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. It was during this time that he wrote One Step from Glory. Though the book is classified as a novel, it follows actual events that took place during WWI.
“One Step From Glory: America in World War One” is an enthralling story that explores the United States’ involvement in World War I. The book delves into the political, military, and social dynamics that influenced America’s decision to join the war, detailing key battles, the experiences of American soldiers, and the broader impact on U.S. society.
This narrative revolved around four college mates who were to fight on the Western Front in 1917. The author, Sidney Phelps Little, offers an epic picture of history as America engages in World War I. This narrative is the human story of the 149th Field Artillery’s troops and cannons, the horsepower required to carry the wagons, caissons, and guns into firing position against the enemy.
Sidney P. Little highlights how this involvement marked America’s emergence as a global power while examining the sacrifices made and the war’s lasting effects on the foreign policy of the country and its identity. The narrative provides an in-depth look at the military strategies.
