Citi of Books is delighted to announce the publication of “The Maid” by Robert Lewis Barros, M.D. This story circled about a maid, Margarita Gonzales, and a Spanish royalty, Antonio Del Rey. It delves into the complexities of love and provides insight into Spanish culture, from birth to death, dueling, and marriage. This book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other retail sites.

Robert Lewis Barros, M.D., was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and was brought to the US as a child while his parents were looking for the American dream after being influenced by missionaries from the Seven Day Adventist Church. As his family was poor, he helped by delivering papers. Through his education in hard work and perseverance taught by his parents, Dr. Barros succeeded in becoming an ER physician, which has provided valuable lessons in human behavior and the human spirit. Now retired in Santa Cruz, Dr. Barros has become inspired by the beauty of the nature surrounding him to write. His imagination carries him to places he has never seen filled with love, romance, and, at times, adversity.

“The Maid” is an emotional tale with a powerful lesson that anyone can rise from the bottom, and those at the top can come crumbling down. It focuses on Antonio and Margarita, childhood sweethearts, who promised to love each other forever. However, Antonio’s mother arranged for his marriage to his cousin Britana, and they produced a son called Herny Del Rey. Margarita’s life took a fatal turn when she was raped by Antonio’s royal friend Raul, giving birth to her daughter Estrellita Gonzales. Margarita’s family was fired from the palace, forcing them to move to Barcelona. Margarita eventually left and worked as a nanny for an American family – the Gray family.

Antonio later learned that Raul had fathered a son named David, who struggled with drug addiction and fell into a coma. After waking up miraculously, David turned his life around and became a priest.

Margarita immigrated to the United States with the Gray family, reinventing herself as an actress under the stage name Margelina and eventually earning a PhD in psychology. Following the deaths of his parents and wife, Antonio traveled to the United States with his son Herny, unaware that his path would cross with Margarita’s again. Antonio continued his studies, receiving a PhD in Computer Science and joining a covert military organization with his advanced inventions.

If you feel miserable or when people do not value you, you’re not in the right environment.

Years later, Antonio and Margarita finally reunited and confessed their long-held love for each other, completing a circle of lost and rekindled love.

Overall, the author’s objective in “The Maid” is to demonstrate the enduring power of love, forgiveness, and redemption, as well as how individuals can improve their lives in the face of misfortune and pain. The narrative emphasizes perseverance, personal reinvention, and how one’s surroundings may have a big influence on one’s feeling of self-worth and potential. By illustrating the characters’ paths from sorrow to success and reconciliation, the story underscores the value of faith, bravery, and tenacity in overcoming life’s challenges and achieving happiness.
