George Jaeggi was featured in an interview with Benji Cole of CBS Radio for his book “A White Man’s China.” They talked about the in-depth nature of his book’s theme and inspiration during the interview.

George Jaeggi, born and educated in Switzerland, holds a basic banking apprenticeship certificate (KV). After completing compulsory basic training in the Swiss Army, he immigrated to Canada at the age of 19. Initially hindered by a lack of English skills, he spent his first four years in various labor jobs, including a year at a logging camp on Vancouver Island. Eventually, he secured his first office job at a division of Magna, where he progressed to become a divisional controller.

In 2000, George founded his consulting firm, Halten Management Services, assisting manufacturing companies with their expansion plans and establishing facilities in Canada and China. His business dealings have spanned Europe, North America, Mexico, China, Korea, and Japan.

A White Man’s China” is more than a travelogue; it narrates the author’s journey of personal growth and career transformation. By detailing the places he visited, the people he met, and his experiences, the author provides a deep insight into China’s rich culture and history. The book underscores the importance of being open-minded, adaptable, and respectful toward different cultures, fostering understanding and lasting connections.
