Every year, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books becomes livelier and brighter due to the growing number of attendees. From book lovers, casual readers, and literary collectors to authors and publishers, people gathered to celebrate literacy.
The largest book festival in the US opened its doors last April for a glamorous two-day weekend celebration with the bookworms. Held at the University of Southern California, many book enthusiasts, book lovers, and book collectors, as well as writers, established authors, and many more, attended the free event.
A lot of bookfair-goers went by the Citi of Books booth to check for their next read and potential favorite book. One of the books that were chosen is “My Game of Life” by Edward W. Lull. It was displayed on April 20th and 21st at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California.
In this autobiographical work, Edward W. Lull shares his life experiences, ideas, and emotions through a collection of poems. The book, “My Game of Life,” includes both his favorite poems from his early writing years and newer, previously unpublished works. Notably, Lull reflects on the impact of losing his loving partner after over sixty-three years of marriage.
Part 4 of the book focuses on six essays detailing his experiences as a Navy officer. These essays are etched in his memory, even fifty years later. Lull’s third career as a writer allowed him to draw upon leadership and management skills gained during his 20-year tenure as a Navy officer and subsequent executive positions in business. His retirement has been enriched by the joy of writing and the fulfillment of sharing his life’s journey.
