When it comes to providing information to the public or introducing a brand, a radio interview is one of the best mediums to use. That is why, in cooperation with CBS Radio’s host, Benji Cole, and Citi of Books Publishing, the inspiring and amazing stories behind every author’s work will be heard.

Mary Hoglund, author of the book “No No Nola Spicolla Goes to Foster Care,” was featured in an interview with Benji Cole of CBS Radio. They talked in depth about her book’s theme and inspiration during the interview.

Mary Hoglund was born in Virginia. Minnesota. She graduated from Bemidji State University, where she got her social work degree with a criminal justice minor and a sociology minor. She married her husband Eric 32 years ago with two adult children. Mary had a pet dog who recently died and luckily met ‘Nola.’

“No No Nola Spicolla” is a book about a baby goat, or “kid,” who must live with a foster family for a period as her mother is unable to care for her. This mirrors the need for foster care for human children due to child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, or addiction.

“No No Nola Spicolla” is a spirited “kid” who learns to bond with and trust a family that is not her own and feel safe and loved until she can return to her home. The whimsical illustrations in the book are beautiful and portray the joy Nola brought to the Hoglund family during her stay at their home.
