Citi of Books launched the publication of the gripping book “A Silent Cry” by Chief Hacha Kusso. This book tells the heartbreaking story of a young woman who is silently crying over the reality she’s facing. The book is now available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other leading online bookstores.

Chief Hacha Kusso, also known as Pearla Gillespie Harvey, has a degree in pastoral care and is self-employed as a beeswax candle maker. Along with her husband, Dijon, she resides in South Carolina.

Chief Hacha, who was then Pearla G. Harvey, was the CEO of the non-profit organization Community First, an outreach program from 2008–2019. The organization focused on helping at-risk teens and young adults. In August 2021, Hacha Kusso was elected Head Chief of YUCHII KUSSO MVSKOKI TRIBE.

The pages of “A Silent Cry” are the heartbreaking realities that a young woman named Clair is facing. Enduring sexual abuse at a young age, as well as other personal abuses throughout her life, Clair must struggle with the difficult realization that her family is not a source of safety and security for her. These traumas teach her to feel different, victimized, and defenseless, even into her adult years, and the result is severe depression.

Afraid to trust anyone yet afraid of turning them away, Clair eventually reaches out to the counsel of a caring aunt, who tries to show her an alternative to her lonely life through faith in God and finding peace within herself.

The story of Clair’s strong will to move forward and her aunt’s sincere words and guidance offers hope for those experiencing similar personal dilemmas as well as inspiration for those who can reach out to help a loved one through unimaginable difficulties in life.
